Sugar Vooruit, Gent (Belgium) 11 Dec 1992 Last week I uploaded the very first show Sugar played in 1992 (their debut gig as well; still available at http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=214368). This here is the final performance of that year. Coming at the end of a weeklong trek across Europe, and wrapping up more than 2 months of almost continuous touring, the band was obviously in need of a new spark. So, after a solid, routinely performed set of their catchy and well-crafted songs, they suddenly shifted gear after Tilted and embarked on a 25-minute jam that was a jaw-dropping sight to behold. You particulary felt for Malcolm Travis, who was incessantly pounding his drums in a tempo akin to that of a horde of stampeding cattle. A number of fans and journalists present at the gig afterwards complained about the number of unfamiliar songs and the jam that went on forever, but I thought it was a totally cool performance. Unfortunately the Vooruit in Gent has never won any prizes for its acoustic qualities, and neither of the two audience recordings I managed to track down in the weeks after the concert does it much justice. I have taken the better of the two (which is 2 or 3 generations down from the master), but even after some tweaking it still only merits a "B" rating. That's why I'm including a sample in the comments. This is what you're getting: 1. intro (0:11) 2. The Act We Act (4:46) 3. A Good Idea (3:20) 4. Changes (4:12) 5. Running Out Of Time (2:26) 6. Where Diamonds Are Halos (4:49) 7. Hoover Dam (3:09) 8. Sapphire Capital (3:25) 9. After All The Roads Have Led To Nowhere (3:47) 10. Frustration (5:16) 11. Slick (4:03) 12. Anyone (2:44) 13. Clownmaster (3:13) 14. Come Around (4:53) 15. Tilted (3:47) 16. Jam (24:22) 17. (encore) Man On The Moon (4:54) (83 minutes total time) Enjoy!
